Abolish ICE!

I oppose U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The agency has moved far past any point of reform. Under the Donald Trump administration, ICE has been weaponized against immigrant communities through aggressive raids, detention, and lethal force. This approach has caused fear, separation, and death.

ICE agents have killed people. Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed during an ICE operation. Rich Porter was killed during an ICE enforcement encounter. Silverio was killed by ICE during an immigration stop. These names matter. Each loss reflects a system willing to use deadly force while operating with weak oversight and little accountability.

People have also died inside ICE detention facilities. Deaths under ICE custody have risen due to medical neglect, overcrowding, and prolonged detention. Families receive phone calls instead of answers. Communities receive silence instead of justice.

My opponent, Jimmy Panetta, voted for a resolution praising ICE. That vote praises an agency tied to death, fear, and abuse. The same political network receives support from large agricultural donors who depend on immigrant labor to keep wages low and profits high, while backing enforcement policies that terrorize those workers and their families.

I support abolishing ICE and replacing it with a humane system rooted in due process, worker protections, and community safety. Immigration policy must protect human life, keep families together, and respect the people who sustain our economy.

CA 19 deserves leadership that stands with immigrant families, not with a weaponized federal agency. I will fight for dignity, safety, and accountability for every person in our community.
